3 Pleasant Surprises From 1 Month Of Creating Content

Creating content is often misunderstood, misinterpreted but definitely something worth pursuing.

I used to be that person who always wondered how people on the internet thrived on creating content. It’s like they always had their own crowd. It’s like seeing the group in class always talking about things no one else understood.

While writing everyday this year, I decided to use Twitter as a platform to learn and exchange ideas. I went in with no expectations, hoped it wouldn’t get toxic and had my fingers crossed.

3 surprising things happened to me in the span of 40 days.

1. I’ve Made New Friends From Around The World

This isn’t the same as following someone on Instagram and then, never caring about them.

People on Twitter care. They offer help, we get on group calls and try to leverage our own experiences. Why? To save others the trouble of finding a solution or avoiding the same mistakes we did.

I’ve already made friends who’ve openly offered to help me learn, support me without any implication of monetary support in return. If that’s not worth bragging, then I don’t know what is.

2. Beta Testing An Interesting App

One of the co-founders of an app named ‘Scrintal’ onboarded me as a beta tester. I now get to test an amazing app, suggest changes I would like to see AND use it for free till launch 😆. No way would this happen if I didn’t put myself out there.

3. Got My First Affiliate Link

Never saw this coming but I now have my first affiliate link. It’s basically a link which I can share with people to market a product I use.

Benefit to the user? A Discount. Benefit to me? A small reward.

Life is full of pleasant surprises! On or Off the Internet 😄
