3 Reminders That You're Doing Your Best
We live in interesting times where we're lost in the present. A present that's driven by what's trending over the last 24 hours.
Our phones, our apps, tend to make us think we're doing too less. Someone's always doing something or so it seems. It can seem quite daunting when you see someone's highlight reel in 15 second stories and reels. Multiply that by the number of people you follow and it's a recipe for disaster.
If you're one of those people, it'd be nice if you took a step back, snapped back to reality and took an objective view of your life.
1. Your Life Is Good
When feeling flustered, it helps to realize how privileged we are. Comparisons shouldn't ruin your belief of what you have. Yes, things can be better, but that argument can apply for anything.
"That’s the fundamental delusion – that there is something out there that will make you happy forever" - Naval Ravikant
2. You Can't Do Everything In One Day
I had this delusion that I had to do every single thing I wanted to in a single day. Unfortunately that list grew bigger. Fortunately, some sense smacked into me when I used to burnout. Listening to your body is often a good idea - mentally and physically.
Nothing you do is going to matter that much in the long run. Don’t take yourself so seriously - Naval Ravikant
3. Being Grateful For What's Around You
Sometimes the simple things make you realise how privileged you are. The ability to actually choose 'what you want to eat' when people can't get two square meals a day puts things into a different perspective. Yes, we have problems but it's also nice to remember the good things i.e. the basics.
“Until we have begun to go without them, we fail to realize how unnecessary many things are. We've been using them not because we needed them but because we had them.” ― Seneca
