How you can use emojis at work
When I was working on a big project, I had the opportunity to create something new, something no one had done before. π
I used emojis as an effective means of communication π. Having spent a good deal of time reading newsletters, I realized the mails we exchange at work tend to be dry.
As we had to communicate with more than 30 people, a technical, detailed mail made no sense. So I decided to wing it. πͺ
I used everything I could, while still keeping it professional (because π).
β for no/pending, β for done/ finished
β in progress, π‘ for suggestions
These were some of the emojis used to:
Grab attention π
Keep people hooked π£
Convey things clearly with a short word count π‘
(I had my doubts) but it worked. People loved it! I still use this (where relevant) to this day.
My point is, skills can be leveraged everywhere - even the skill of using emojis π
A person who loves football β½ can leverage it to try data analysis
The love of speaking can give an edge in presentations/ townhalls
Addiction to productivity software can help you stay organized on the worst days (thank you OneNote)
